Really disappointed to find that the only places to eat on this site in the Midlands are Harvesters, Tobys and Beefeaters - just about all of which I've heard people having been glutened at! I have a good list of great places, but unfortunately the site doesn't allow me to suggest any to you - I can only find a link if I want to flag someone who doesn't do GF??

Hi Clare
Please suggest any places to eat, which cater for a gluten-free diet here. Coeliac City is unique, as we don't add places to eat automatically, without speaking to owners first, to ensure they are aware of what gluten-free means, but we certainly don't want to make it difficult for people to suggest, so please send us any suggestions.
Also, if you have found that any of the places to eat aren't gluten-free then please let us know. We can only improve with everyone's updates.
Thanks for taking the time to post. Here's to more great, safe places to eat!

Ok - here goes - I've tried all of these bar Sibila's
Metro Bar in Birmingham has a separate GF menu which you can ask to see - some of it is things like the burger without the bun, but they are careful and I've not been glutened there yet (5+ visits)
Asha's in Birmingham will also look after you, although they don't have a separate menu. Food is fab
Hotel du Vin, will cook anything you like and make sure it's GF.
Opus - will do the same, although they can't guarantee GF as they make their own bread etc. I've been fine on every occasion I've been
Sibila's veg restaurant flag their GF items.
La Tasca on Broad Street is fine - they label GF items and are really helpful
Purnell's don't state GF on their menu but will adapt for you.
San Carlo's failed to respond to my emails, so I won't be going there...
Outside of the Midlands; Leon's is fabulous - GF labeled items, great takeaway or sit in lunch type food PJ's brasserie is fab - the staff are really clued up. The Ivy - not a GF menu but really helpful.
HaHa's - went to the Villier Street one a week or so ago and got glutened - they told me I could have chips, and when I got back to my desk I got a late response from their head office advising which foods were GF but warning not to have chips!! So - they can advise which is GF, but seems their staff let them down.. Few days to recover means I won't be going back
Hope this is helpful C

Ask the Kinnersley Arms if Maize is suitable for a gluten free diet. You get some shocking answers and then ask if sweetcorn is safe. (maize and sweetcorn being one and the same) This guy doesn't have a clue!
